When LED Walls are part of your event vision, let’s make sure you’re able to bring your idea to life.
To help you along this journey from inception to fruition, below are 5 integral tips to making the most of your LED investment.
#1: Let Your Provider Guide You
Each event is unique, and so are LED configurations. It’s important to select the right LED solution to fit your message. Your AV Provider will help you select the exact solution you need, such as on walls, screens or panels, and explain why this solution works best for you. Like most providers, Advanced Staging has multiple popular options to select from.
#2: One Size Does Not Fit All
It’s important to customize your LED features based on the viewing distance of the audience, venue and crowd size. LED displays are most effective when the pixel count is proportionate to the viewer’s distance, typically 1mm of pitch (the distance between adjacent pixel centers) should equal about 1 meter of distance to the viewer.
#3: Account for Timing and Space
The great thing about LED’s is that the possibilities are almost endless. However, you need to consider the limitations of space and size of the venue, as well as how long setup time will be. Using LED’s are great for limited space, but often require large surfaces. Production time will vary depending on the setup desired, so it is important to keep this in mind from the beginning.
Your event technology management team will help you develop a timeline that will include some extra time in case of unexpected difficulties, such as a down tile. Consider the level of support your AV partner will provide when deciding to rent an LED wall for your event.
#4: Get your Design Done Early
Make sure to get your designer all of the details of your LED investment. This includes specs, a template and involvement of the techs from the start. This will ensure you avoid any last-minute surprises. Your event management team may even provide you a graphic design service themselves. Experts recommend to avoid white backgrounds and tiny horizontal likes so the pixels on the LED’s don’t stand out.
#5: Consider an On-Site LED Tech
Technology is notorious for being difficult at the worst times. It’s worth it to add an on-site LED tech at your event to the budget to avoid this. They will be there to assist incase something goes wrong so your event can continue on smoothly. Make sure you talk to your partner about their control plan they have in place.
